SWAG Items: The Good, Bad, and Horrible

All of us have come across bad swag. It may have even been horrible swag. Most geoachers forget one of the most important rules of geocaching: if you take an item, you must replace it with something of equal or greater value. Don't just throw in a twig that is on the ground next to you. This could not only make the cache dirty, but it also is just stealing the experience of finding some really great swag from another geocacher. Now, the best, worst, and definitely-do-not SWAG items to put in geocaches. The Good There are a lot of good things to put in a geocache. Geobags

Geobags Your Geobag is a very important part of your geocaching experience. The tools and materials it contains could be the difference between having to go home early and spending hours geocaching. Below, I will show you what I have in my Geobag and what to include in yours. What is a Geobag? A Geobag is the bag you bring with you to go geocaching. Its contents can change based on the expedition and the caches you are looking for. It can also be a box, sack, crate, bucket, or even wagon. What’s important is that it is convenient for you. My Geobag I use a small Camelbak backpack as my Geobag because it is light, convenient, and it has a water bladder. In the small top pocket I put my hiding materials. This includes loaded micros, extra logs, and a notebook for owner logs. In the large bottom pocket, I keep my finding supplies. This includes a magnifying glass, band-aids, string, toothpicks and a dowel, a Swiss Army knife, and paper clips. I keep my all my pens in my pocket ...
